WHY VF TUNER?
vF Tuner is not like other tuning companies. They don't throw a car on a dyno, find power, call it a day, and that's that. Every car they design calibrations for they purchase and do extensive, sometimes year long rounds of development and testing before they release anything. vF Tuner ensures, on their own R&D vehicles, that what they provide is safe, efficient, and delivers.
In some cases, simply finding horsepower and torque is not the ultimate goal of a calibration. They seek to find out and fix any potential bugs, issues, or simply less than desirable traits of OEM calibrations. This includes things like throttle response, transmission shifting, and other beneficial parts of a complete calibration.
WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER TUNING MY TRUCK?
The Tacoma is known for terrible throttle response and "gear hunting" issues. One of the most affordable ways to solve these problems is with a tune. Common tune variations include:
Tire Size: Stock, 33", or 35"
Fuel Type: Regular (85-89) or Premium (90-94)
Gear Ratios: Stock, 4.88, or 5.29
Enhanced Throttle Response
IS THE TUNE SAFE?
vF tunes are as safe as can be. They test everything on their own cars, and never release to the public until it is tested and verified. At times this means months of in house code testing and bug extraction.
WILL THE TUNE VOID THE WARRANTY?
vF Tuner states that, "While this product is developed for off road and competition use, vF Tuner has not had anyone notify them of any warranty concerns." The ECU ID still reads out the same when the dealership connects to read it. Overall you will need to take into account the potential risk and make your own decision.
IS TUNING REVERSIBLE? CAN I GO BACK TO STOCK?
Absolutely. Your vehicle can be flashed back to stock at any time, in less than 5 minutes.

West Valley - AMC Deer Valley 17 at 31st Ave & W. Behrend Dr, (Deer Valley Town Center)
Southeast Valley - US Bank at 2060 E. Rio Salado Parkway (Tempe Marketplace)
*Meetups outside of those locations are on a case-by-case basis. 50+ miles adds a fuel surcharge.
WHAT IS YOUR TUNING AVAILABILITY?

ARE YOU ABLE TO TUNE OTHER MODELS OF TOYOTA VEHICLES?
Although we focus on the 3rd Gen (2016+) Tacoma, we can also tune other Toyota vehicles. If you drive a Tacoma 4.0l (2005-2015), 4Runner 4.0l (20010-2019), Tundra 5.7L (2007-2021), or Lexus GX460/470, please inquire. 2020+ 4Runner tunes coming in Q3 2022!
DO YOU OFFER CUSTOM TUNING?
Currently we only offer YotaWerx and vF Tune packs. If you are in need of custom options, contact us directly.
CAN YOU UPDATE MY TSB?
Yes, we have the software required to update your TSB (dealers charge $150+ for this service). First we will identify your vehicle's ECU. From there we'll check to see if there is an update available and if so, we'll run the flash update. You can get your truck tuned without applying a TSB update, but we believe that being on the most recent ECU provides a better base for the VF tune.
WHAT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO ME IF I MODIFY MY TRUCK IN THE FUTURE?
If at some point in the future you increase your tire size, re-gear, change fuel type, etc., Mobile Antics will re-tune your truck for FREE. Just email justin@mobileantics.com with your re-tune request.
CAN'T I JUST BUY THE SOFTWARE DIRECTLY FROM VF TUNER AND DO IT MYSELF?
Yep, you sure can. For about $740 you can get the software/hardware you need to flash your own vehicle. The question is, "Do you want to pay 164% more AND have to manage/learn how to use the software?" With Mobile Antics, we can save you time, money, and hassle.
THERE SEEM TO BE OTHER TUNES ON THE MARKET GOING BY DIFFERENT NAMES. WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT?
OV Tune (now vF Tuner) set the standard for Tacoma tuning. After releasing their in-house developed tune packs, vF Tuner users started using the software to edit the maps on the base tunes. Once edited they are re-branding the tune and selling them under a new name. There are a handful of branded tunes on the market now. The tunes are simply different versions to suit different palettes, but there are also tunes out there that you want to avoid. If you are considering one of these tunes, be mindful of: who created it, how it was tested (dyno, ample datalogging, etc.), and where they made map edits. Do they claim their tune provides more power? If so, why? Is it up high in the power band (above 5K RPM) where it's not needed? Are they relying heavily on throttle modifications? Tuning is an art and a science, and you want to make sure that the tunes you are buying are going to be safe & reliable for your truck over the long term.
DO YOU OFFER A SUPERCHARGER TUNE?
Yes!! In May 2022, YotaWerx tuning released their "Stryker" 90mm pulley supercharger tune for the N/A Tacoma 3.5L. This is one of the few SC tunes on the market, and will substantially improve the performance of your supercharger-modified Tacoma.

WILL THE TUNE WORK IN DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL?
This is also commonly referred to as Adaptive Cruise Control. Unfortunately our tunes do NOT operate in this mode as of today. Regular cruise control uses the available EROM cruise control tables, but we do not have access to dynamic radar cruise control tables yet. For regular cruise control we lengthen the values in the tables a bit to result in less downshifting. We are hopeful that the next EROM (exclusive code re-writes, developed in-house by vF) update should account for dynamic radar CC. We will make an announcement when we release this functionality.
DO YOU OFFER GEARLOCK FEATURE?
Yes! The Gearlock feature is available for the 2016+ Tacoma. In a nutshell, Gearlock will "lock in" whatever gear you select when manually shifting using S-Mode. Gearlock can only be initiated by activating the ECT Power button. Gearlock is created by setting the ECT tables to only shift at ONE speed, no matter what.
What is ECT Power? ECT is an acronym for Electronically Controlled Transmission. The ECT PWR button is not a turbo boost button. In fact, it doesn’t actually increase the power of your vehicle at all. The ECT PWR button will adjust shift points so you can reach higher RPM levels before shifting into the next gear. This feature would normally engaged when towing/hauling.
Note: Gearlock is an optional feature and must be requested at the time of tune. If you are on a Gearlock tune, the ECT Power button can ONLY be used in tandem with S-Mode. If you try to use it on its own, nothing will happen. A non-GL tune, however, allows normal use of the ECT Power button.
